Below are Quick Links to Some of Our Favorite Resources
Scanning Services to Convert Old Prints to Easily Shared Digital Files - Professional scanning services make it easy to turn your older photo prints, slides, and other media into digital files that can be consolidated with your newer digital images. Digital image files allow you to more creatively share your entire photo and image collection with extended family. Two well established services to explore are ScanDigital and ScanCafe.
Storage, Archiving, and Display Supplies - Whether you are seeking archival storage materials, replacement albums, ready-made frames for display, or other related preservation and display supplies, there are several competitively priced online sources. A couple of the best include Blick Art Supplies and Archival Methods.
Online Printing and Image Sharing - Digital images can be easily uploaded and shared for free at all major online printers including Snapfish, Kodak, and Shutterfly. Although fee based, SmugMug is worth considering as it offers a very customizable and professional looking gallery. All of these online sharing and printing services provide consistent and high quality printing at competitive prices.
Books on Family History and Photo Preservation and Sharing Subjects - LocalArchiver.com has hand picked a number of books related to topics covered in this site. Take a browse at our bookstore.
Photo Books
- All major online printers offer photo book products.
Picaboo is worth a look as well since they offer a very broad range of
templates and themes. Picaboo's service is focused on letting you
download their book design software, which allows you to experiment to
your heart's content and then upload the entire book for printing only
after you are completely satisfied.
